BTCV Books-on-Line Practical Conservation Online. Over a dozen relevant books written by experts and available to read on-line. A very useful reference library with lots of sound, practical information and a good one to dip into every now and again.
Horsham Natural History Society aims to entertain and inform its members about all aspects of natural history and also carries out practical countryside surveys from time to time in local sites of interest.
The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading conservation charity dedicated to the protection of our native woodland heritage. You will need at least a week to look through this site and the others in the 'family'. When you get there, look for the pull-down menu on the right - and settle down for a good read.
British Trees. This site, one of the 'family' of sites maintained by the Woodland Trust, contains a wealth of reference material for all those interested in native British trees. Very useful for helping with tree identification.
The-Tree is a large website devoted (yes, devoted) to trees. Recommended browsing.

Offwell Woodland & Wildlife Trust. A huge, excellent reference site for British wildlife, conservation and environmental education.
