THURSDAY
[EVENING MEAL TODAY – you must have booked a ticket! See below]
Today we will be helping out Southwater Parish Council with tidying a fenced coppice which has become a bit of a dumping ground and also carefully and neatly cutting back around the edges of a field and conservation area. Both are owned by the parish council.
Parking in this residential area is very tight, so please be careful when parking. If you are able to walk, car share or use the bus it would be really helpful today.
PARKING:
# if it hasn’t rained beforehand or on the day, we can carefully park our cars on the grass of the worksite. The weather forecast for Thursday looks good today 6th Jan, with no rain.
# if the ground is wet, we will have to park in whatever places we can find. The roads in the area have small parking lay-bys and are all narrow. If you can’t park on the grass, please ensure you park neatly and without inconveniencing residents and other road users.
Forget the car and come by bus or park at the Hop Oast Park and Ride. The ticket from P+R to Southwater on the 98 is £1.70 each way, unless you’re lucky enough to have a bus pass? Take the 23 or 98 Metrobus towards Southwater. Southwater Street stop is a very short walk from the work site.
Meeting point: beside 33, Nyes Lane, RH13 9GP (off Blakes Farm Road), Southwater
Please park here only if the ground is dry
