Tuesday – There is a section of non-native invasive American Skunk Cabbage that has taken up residence in a boggy corner of the wood – we will attempt to dig out as many of the blighters as possible. It’s among the first flowers to bloom in late winter or early spring. The nearby stretches of boardwalk would also do with a good brushing to remove mud built up over the winter.
p.s. You may discover why it is called ‘Skunk Cabbage’.
Meeting point: in the car park off Harwood Road. Postcode is RH13 6SG (not exact); the OS map ref is TQ193 313
