Thursday – Fencing repairs and tool maintenance. The task today is at the Guides campsite where there is a fence line to repair. Some of the old posts have rotted but we can leave them in place and plonk the new post alongside.
Our usual team work is required to dig ‘starter’ holes for the 20 new posts, ram and tamp them in and staple on the existing wire. There is a new ‘toy’ to play with as we now have a post-hole auger for use where the ground is hard to dig.
There may be other tasks but we will also take the time to give our tools a spot of TLC before a winter of heavy use.
