Thursday – We will be mainly working on the slope on the opposite side of the Quarry lake from previous years. The plan is to reduce the height of the scrub to improve the view to the lake and to rejuvenate some of the sections that have begun dying off due to crowding. The cut material will be stacked up in dead hedges to create sheltered nesting and hibernating habitat and also help keep visitors at a slight distance from this quiet place within the park.
Meeting point: Ben’s Field Overflow Car Park, the Downs Link just off Cripplegate Lane. If you are driving today please park in this car park to ensure you don’t have to pay for parking/get a ticket!
